About We Were Here Before
About This Release We Were Here Before is an interactive fiction title about a frontier settlement that is already, quietly, being forgotten. You are its governor. Did you tell the settler what was happening to them, or decide they were better off not knowing? Resources — bureaucracy, memory, prosperity, fragment — spill from the decisions you build and become the settlement’s foundation. It is designed for those with a love of reading, allowing leeway for the player’s imagination to fill in what the title doesn’t explicitly explain to you. There are no deep mechanics to fill time, and no fail states where you lose. It is closer to a Choose Your Own Adventure journey. Each run will take 45 – 60 minutes. Find it a place on the grid. Every choice leaves something behind. A frontier settlement needs decisions made. The Horizon pulses at the center of the table — when it breathes out, something arrives that no charter prepared you for. You will never see a stat. A Quiet Survey. An IOU for a name, found in a bag of odds and ends, that keeps coming back. You will read what arrived. You will compromise. You will not be able to take it back. You will build. You will govern. The Bureau has prepared a briefing. Drop them on the grid and something rises. The Bureau of Metaphysical & Philosophical Research has opinions about what you did and A town square. When a story concludes it hands you a Legacy District named for what you did: A Counting House. An archive. A market. A child who arrived three days before her mother did. The Certain Garden. With 90+ story endings, and four seen each experience through, it creates a large replayable experience. What you built is what you governed. You will make a choice. A merchant who knows what you ordered before you ordered it. You will see consequences. Did you open the vault or seal it? Did you pay the debt or find the clause that made it unpayable? You have been here before. The settlement remembers. The frontier remembers. Frontier dwellings.

How the We Were Here Before Trainer Works
The trainer attaches to the We Were Here Before process in memory and toggles specific variables — health pool, ammo count, experience multiplier — without modifying game files on disk. No reshades, zero DLLs injected into protected modules, no savegame corruption.
How to Install
- Download the archive from the link below.
- Right-click the archive and extract it with 7-Zip or WinRAR (password: flingtrainer).
- Temporarily disable your antivirus or whitelist the extracted folder.
- Launch We Were Here Before and load any save.
- Alt-Tab out of the game, right-click the trainer executable and choose “Run as administrator”.
- Back in-game, press the listed hotkeys (usually F1, F2, F3…) to toggle each option.
- Avoid alt-tabbing repeatedly while cheats are active — some toggles reset on window switch.
How This Trainer Compares
Compared to generic cheat engines, this release ships with pre-built, version-locked hotkeys — no manual pointer hunting, no CE-script imports, no waiting for community tables to catch up. The downside is less flexibility: you cannot add custom options, but the upside is near-zero setup friction and a faster patch cycle after every Inkdrift update.
Pro Tips from the Editor
- Quick-save in We Were Here Before just before toggling any XP or economy cheat — that way a rogue multiplier never snowballs your progression.
- Back up your save folder before the first run. Cheat-induced save corruption is rare but irreversible.
- Keep Mega Damage disabled during boss phase transitions — skipping a phase can leave the fight unkillable.
- Pair One-Hit Kill with Stealth Mode in open-world maps to clear camps without spawning reinforcements.
